The Initial Situation
Until now, planning was conducted using Excel based on a highly complex cost accounting system that also served as the foundation for legal accounting. Consolidation processes were handled manually without system support. The objective was to develop an integrated system capable of encompassing planning, consolidation, and reporting within a unified framework, thereby streamlining these processes and reducing the reliance on manual methods.
The Approach
- Implementation of IBM Cognos Controller to map commercial and management consolidation
- Conception of an integrated and driver-based P&L and balance sheet planning based on sales planning
- Integration of a forecast to map the monthly fast close as an internal monthly close
- Complete technical implementation of the business concept in IBM Planning Analytics and connection of the planning with the actuals from the consolidation with the IBM Cognos Controller
